]]> J7 Wins 2009 FCS Board MFG. Cup! /index.php?entry=28

Teams included in the inaugural FCS Manufacturer’s Cup were Chemistry, Lost, Surf Prescription, Rusty, Timmy Patterson, Sharp Eye, J7, and Fire Wire.

Firewire, Chemistry, Lost, and J7 Surfboards all advanced into the championship heat where the “winner-take-all” prize purse of $2000 was up for grabs. Firewire and Lost failed to keep up with Chemistry and J7 as they had a dog fight finish in the last seconds. With time running thin, J7’s last surfer Dennis Rizzo, sprinted in to shore to pick up his team’s four bonus points, which ultimately ripped the victory from Chemistry Surfboards by 2 points.

J7 Surfboards was crowned the FCS Manufacturer’s Cup Champs. “This event was so exciting as it came down to the last sprint. The best part about the FCS Manufacturer’s Cup is that we get a chance to compete against other surfboard manufacturers!” - Keoni Cuccia (J7 Surfboards)

September Contests /index.php?entry=24
First off was the 13th Annual Donnie Solomon Memorial Contest Held at C-Street in Ventura

The best local talent and close friends of Big Wave Charger Donnie Solomon, who in 1995 lost his life while surfing 25 ft Waimea Bay, gathered to share in memory and compete in his honor. Donnie was a huge supporter of The American Red Cross. Half of the days proceeds went directly to the Red Cross. Which is clearly what Donnie would have wanted!

The surf was Head High and perfect, allowing for the level of surfing to be Top-Notch! The crowd was blown away with the Mind Blowing performances of Surfers like Tim Curran and Jesse Merle-Jones but The first place Trophy and Check went to J7 Team rider Kilian Garland. Kilan put on an amazing show surfing every heat with near-perfect scores! My hats off to you Kilian!

Straight from the Donnie event the J7 Crew headed South to the 1st Annual Jim Beam Team Challenge.

The J7 Surfboards team for this event included Tarik Khashogg, Dan Wachter, Keoni Cuccia, Pete Mussio and Kilian Garland. The boys surfed hard and once again the competition was world class! The J7 crew surfed their way to the finals with a 3rd Place finish overall. Join us next weekend when the J7 Team competes again at C-Street in Ventura, Sights are set on the big prize purse and a first place finish!

Catching up with Captain Liz Clark! /index.php?entry=17
"Captain" Liz Clark recently landed in Santa Barbara to shake off the Sea Legs and pick up some new boards. She can now sail off into the sunset and score some more perfect waves with a trusty new J7 quiver!

Liz's short visit was unfortunately not just for pleasure. She was locked up in the Pacific NW for a few days, working overtime editing photos for her NEW BOOK!!! Thats right! Liz is writing her first book and will be sharing with us the images and experiences of her travels as she sails around this ball of Ocean and Earth we call home.

I always love catching up with Liz. She reminds me how imortant it is to live life to the fullest and is an inspration to do just that!

Another cool bit was Liz's presentation of an amazing slideshow and support the premier of the new Women's surf film "Dear & Yonder". Be sure to check it out to see the most progressive women’s surfing of today!]]>

]]>
Introduction /index.php?entry=1 I have been making surfboards in Santa Barbara, Ca. for nearly 10 years and have been very fortunate to have created a career for myself doing something I love. J7 is and always has been surrounded by an amazing amount of support from the surfing community. From the great friends and local surfers at my old home breaks on Cape Cod, to the amazing friends I have made while living and surfing here in Santa Barbara. The amount of positive energy that I feel everyday has been incredible and I try with every bit of creative energy to put that right back into my surfboards.

Please feel free to check in from time to time as I will try and update this page on a regular basis. Thanks and hope to hear from you all soon. Jason
